[dappy] token holder communication no4

Hello everyoneSome news regarding the dappy project. We're still pursuing our goal, of providing a 10x more efficient naming and PKI technology to developers and enterprises, for securing their public endpoints. Focus shifts from web applications to SDKs, nodeJS and developer tooling

Dappy is a radical innovation, it comes with a new philosophy and is not backward compatible with prior technologies (DNS, the CA system). This implies that transition will be hard, and the problem-solving or time-solving properties must exceed the cost or burden of migration.

In this situation it is often advised to focus on a niche that has the exact problem this new technology solves, and fine tune the product for this niche. This is the process we initiated in 2023, dappy at the moment is being tailored and pushed for being used in SDKs and other nodeJS softwares. dhttps library illustrates exactly that.

Lowering of the prices for domain names

Sales of dappy domains have been very low, that is the main reason why rewards have not started for token holders. We chose to lower the price from 40USD to 5USD tax included. The main goal really is to build traction and have test/production users. We’re much more focus on the usability and overcoming technical barriers than having a perfect pricing policy.

Being know to browsers

I had an exchange in the past with someone at Mozilla. I hope I’ll be able to reach the Brave team soon as well.

We are preparing two videos where we will showcase Brave Browser resolving .d domains natively (HTTPS endpoint). We hope that they’ll notice us after that, and grasp the business opportunity. It may not be clear to everyone, one clear advantage dappy has over other blockchain name systems is that browser vendors can be members of the dappy network, and participate in the economy. Dappy DLT is a permissioned ledger not a POW or POS system. Whereas today browser companies like Mozilla or Brave are kept aside from the economy of DNS, Verisign (.com and .net domains) made 1.4B USD in 2022.
